More About the Victory Center Rescue Mission...

The Victory Center facility features a 48-person men's shelter and 10 transitional units.  A cafeteria accommodating some 75 people, a large reception area, a chapel and 8 administrative offices.  There is also a courtyard that will allow some recreation and privacy for our men.

Not only does the Victory Center provide meals, shelter and other items to provide for the physical needs of the poor and the homeless, but they also provide for their spiritual needs as well.  The Victory Center offers counseling for individuals, marriage and families, rehabilitation programs for substance and alcohol abuse, and spiritual recovery programs for those who want to know the Word of God.

Our mission is more than just recovery! We go beyond recovery so they can fully realize, look at and increase all that God truly desires for them as an individual to possess.  The Victory Center holds a chapel service every day at noon, just before lunch is served.  There are nightly Bible studies held by volunteer pastors and lay people, as well as morning devotions that are led by a resident or staff member.

We provide a safe place for men, women and families to learn how Jesus can direct and restore their lives. By providing the basic needs for homeless men, women and families, we minister to them in more that just words - we become involved in their lives and put our words into action.
It is our desire and goal to meet the needs of individuals and families in soul, mind, and body. It is our hope to break the cycle of dysfunctional behavior by battling the addictions of drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling and other behavior which causes destructive lifestyles.

We pride ourselves in being a community, not just a center. We are a community aimed towards healing and transforming lives through the compassion, grace and love of Christ! We express this love by offering these services to our residents free of charge.

They are under no obligation to pay for bed or meals. However, when they are finally able to work, we require them to pay in-house fees to teach them responsibility. Funding comes from outside sources, such as: churches, businesses, industries, grants, foundations and individuals.

Our Ministry

The Victory Center has enjoyed success through our many programs and ministries.  Each program is geared to meet the specific needs of those seeking our help.  Our available programs are outlined here...and as always, personal compassion and attention are an integral part of everything we do.

New Life Program

We know it takes more than a hot meal and a few nights stay to get men and women back on their feet.  For those willing to take the journey...we offer a way out through our NEW LIFE Program.

We have seen 40% of those who enter the program complete it.  That means the addictions that were holding them in bondage are gone!  They have continued to live healthy, productive lives!

What a Blessing to God they have become.

Residents who enroll must commit to a 28-week program, during which the resident attends many different classes: Spiritual Recovery I, Spiritual Recovery II, Financial Budgeting, Job Search Skills and Substance Abuse.  G.E.D. assistance is also available.

INSTE Programs

The Victory Center also offers INSTE programs for residents and church memebers who are serious about serving the Lord through leadership and ministry.  This program is a theology course that, when successfully completed, a participant can graduate with a Pastoral Degree.  Pastor Greg Schultz, a former resident of the Victory Center, is one of the 12 people who have successfully completed INSTE and has gone on to open his own church in Albany, Illinois.  Pastors Numida and Arlen VanZee and Pastors Lyle and Deb Wilkins are also successful participants and are now serving as assistant pastors.  Pastor Rob Miltenberger is one of the first and most successful graduates of INSTE and now has his own church in Erie, Illinois.

Mighty X-Men Ministries

The ministry of the Mighty-X-Men and the Mighty-X-Women is designed to take ex-offenders and family members from where they are right now to where God wants them to be.  Through a number of classes, exercises, and mentoring, the ex-offender and their family will begin to walk in restoration.

We know the harm and defeat the ex-offender feels when they have challenges finding employment, housing or rebuilding relationships. We also know first hand that if there isn't something in place to help the ex-offender return to society, the likelihood of them returning as a productive citizen is very limited.

Only the ex-offender will determine the height that will be attained. These programs have been prepared and designed to take them from any level they presently find themselves in and carry them to any achievement that they are willing to set in their heart to reach.  Restoring health to the whole mind, body, soul and spirit - healing the wounds of the past by the help of the Lord Jesus Christ because of being an outcast.

All meetings are at the Faith Center Church, 100 6th Ave North in Clinton, Iowa   - Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

"For I will restore health to you...

and heal you of your wounds," says the Lord,

"because they called you an outcast, saying;

'This is Zion; No one seeks her.'"
